We're not for profit

At GMHBA, we want to support you in looking after your total health and wellbeing. We are a members first fund meaning we're a not for profit organization. Every decision we make is to benefit the health our members.

We're for people, not for profit, so everyone benefits!

For over 85 years, we’ve been driven by the belief that health insurance should be run to benefit our members, not shareholders or overseas owners.

Today, we are proud to be the health insurer of choice for more than 230,000 Australians and as a not for profit fund, we’re passionate about offering our members great value health insurance whilst supporting the health and wellbeing of our local communities.

More than just good value health insurance.

As a not for profit fund everything we do is to benefit our members like you, and helping you get the most from your cover, but Health insurance is not all what we do. We also look after our members by offering specialised health care programs and we engage the broader community in free public health seminars and a variety of health promoting programs so we can be healthier together.

These programs include:

We're proud to be part of the Members own Health Fund.

GMHBA has joined 18 other likeminded health funds to collectively inform Australians that there’s an alternative to the big for-profit funds. Members Own Health Fund (MOHF) has a clear message that we truly support.

Why choose a Members Own Health fund

Members First Health Fund

We put members first with everything we do.

GMHBA Health Insurance is here to benefit our members - not shareholders of overseas owners.

Better service for our members

Deliver better service and give more back to our members.

On average Members Own Health funds give more (of members' premiums) back to our members.
