AIA Vitality is a health and wellbeing program that was offered as an optional addition to eligible GMHBA private health insurance products. From 1 April 2026 it will no longer be available through GMHBA. Learn more below.
Frequently Asked Questions
When will GMHBA stop offering the AIA Vitality program?
The AIA Vitality program will no longer be available through GMHBA from 1 April 2026.
AIA Vitality eligible GMHBA products are now closed to new members.
Why is this happening?
GMHBA regularly reviews its member offerings, taking into account cost, usage and long-term value for members. Based on this, we believe there are more effective ways that we can offer value to a wider range of members.
What do I need to do?
If you're happy to stay on your current GMHBA cover without the AIA Vitality membership, there’s no action required from you. Effective 1 April 2026, we’ll cancel your AIA Vitality membership on your behalf and your total premium will no longer include the AIA Vitality program cost. Your new total premium details as of 1 April 2026 will be sent to you closer to the date (early 2026) as part of the annual premium review communications.
If you’d like to explore other cover options, ask us for a cover review.
How can I keep my AIA Vitality membership after 1 April 2026?
The AIA Vitality program is not available as a standalone product, so if you wish to keep your AIA Vitality membership and status, you could take out an eligible AIA Priority Protection (Life, TPD, Trauma, Income Protection) policy.
Another option would be to transfer your health cover to an eligible AIA Health Insurance policy. We would be sorry to see you go, but we understand that the AIA Vitality program plays an important health and wellness role for some and we’re ultimately here to support that.
Things to note:
- To maintain continuous access to the AIA Vitality app and program, you will need to transfer to an eligible AIA Health Insurance policy or purchase an AIA Priority Protection policy prior to 1 April 2026.
- If you transfer to an eligible AIA Health Insurance policy or purchase an AIA Priority Protection policy within 30 days of the GMHBA AIA Vitality closure date of 1 April 2026, you will be able to maintain your AIA Vitality status and points.
- AIA Priority Protection requires underwriting, and policy acceptance may take longer than 30 days, so if you choose this product you may need to purchase this product earlier than 1 April 2026 to maintain your AIA Vitality status and points.
- There are two membership levels, AIA Vitality or AIA Vitality Starter. GMHBA members have access to the full AIA Vitality program.
- GMHBA members who move to an eligible AIA Health Insurance or purchase an AIA Priority Protection policy would continue to have access to the same level of AIA Vitality program that they hold now, except if they take out AIA Health Basic or AIA Basic Plus Hospital private health insurance products, which only have access to the AIA Vitality Starter program.
See how to join AIA Vitality health insurance.
How much notice are you giving?
We're giving advance notice of this change (10 months) to ensure that GMHBA members are able to make the most of the vouchers and benefits from the AIA Vitality program. We’ll remind you again in early 2026 of the upcoming changes. AIA Vitality will also be in touch with you directly with important information closer to the closure date.
You will have until 1 April 2026 to take advantage of all the program benefits your AIA Vitality status level offers at the time of booking/purchasing, unless you transfer your health insurance policy to an eligible AIA Health Insurance product that includes AIA Vitality or purchase an AIA Priority Protection policy within 30 days of 1 April 2026 (please note that as AIA Priority Protection requires underwriting, and policy acceptance may take longer than 30 days, if you choose this product you may need to transfer earlier than 1 April 2026 to maintain your AIA Vitality status).
If I buy a different product that has AIA Vitality, will I keep my existing AIA Vitality status and points?
GMHBA products with AIA Vitality are now closed, so you would not be able to move to another GMHBA cover with AIA Vitality. It’s important to note that the AIA Vitality program will be closed on all GMHBA products on 1 April 2026 for all existing members.
To retain your existing AIA Vitality status and points, you would need to transfer to an eligible AIA Health Insurance product or purchase an AIA Priority Protection policy within 30 days of 1 April 2026 (please note that as AIA Priority Protection requires underwriting, and policy acceptance may take longer than 30 days, if you choose this product you may need to transfer earlier than 1 April 2026 to maintain your AIA Vitality status).
Will I have access to the AIA Vitality app after the deadline?
You will only have access to the AIA Vitality app until 1 April 2026. You will not have access after this time. Please ensure that all points earned via any activity have synced to your account prior to this date. Please be aware that there may be a delay between earning points and these points appearing in your account, which may affect you reaching the next AIA Vitality status. To ensure the points have the best chance of appearing in your account, please ensure you manually sync a couple of times in the days prior to access ending to ensure all available data is captured.
