GMHBA is committed to providing members with hospital cover options which represent the highest quality and best value. To meet this commitment to our members, we have agreements with over 500 private hospitals across Australia. 

We recommend you contact us prior to any hospital admission for further information on what benefits will be payable under your health insurance policy and potential out-of-pocket costs.

Please note that members in VIC, NSW and QLD may be impacted by agreement changes with Macquarie Health Group hospitals and Toowoomba Private Day Hospital. Please see below map for more information. 

Changes to Macquarie Health Group hospitals agreement impacting VIC and NSW members:
Macquarie Health Group have indicated they will no longer have an agreement with GMHBA from close of business 16 March 2026. This includes:
 
Victoria
  • Essendon Private Clinic
  • Malvern Private Hospital
  • The Melbourne Eastern Private Hospital
New South Wales
  • Holroyd Private Hospital
  • Longueville Private Hospital
  • The Sydney Private Hospital
  • Delmar Private Hospital
  • Eastern Suburbs Private Hospital
  • Manly Waters Private Hospital
  • Minchinbury Community Private Hospital
  • President Private Hospital
This change will not impact any pre-booked admissions prior to this date, but any admissions on or after 17 March 2026 may have greater out-of-pocket costs incurred as we will no longer pay the same level of benefits. We recommend you contact us and speak with your specialist(s) if you or a person covered under your health insurance policy are planning to attend this hospital.
Changes to Toowoomba Private Day Hospital agreement impacting Queensland members:
Toowoomba Private Day Hospital have indicated they will no longer have an agreement with GMHBA from close of business 2 February 2026.
 
This change will not impact any pre-booked admissions prior to this date, but any admissions on or after 3 February 2026 may have greater out-of-pocket costs incurred as we will no longer pay the same level of benefits. We recommend you contact us and speak with your specialist(s) if you or a person covered under your health insurance policy are planning to attend this hospital.
