To get started, download the GMHBA app, select Digital Card from the main menu, and follow the prompts to add it to your Apple Wallet or access it directly within the app for Android.

Setting up your GMHBA digital member card
For iPhone (iOS) users
- Download or open the GMHBA app.
- Navigate to Digital Card in the main menu.
- Follow the prompts to add it to your Apple Wallet.
- Once added, your digital card appears on your home screen and syncs automatically with your Apple Watch.
To claim using your iPhone or Apple Watch
- Unlock your device and open your digital card from Apple Wallet.
- Hold your device over the HICAPS terminal to claim.
For Android users
- Download or open the GMHBA app.
- Tap Digital Card in the main menu.
- Your digital member card will display on the screen — ready to use.
To claim using Android
- Log in to the GMHBA app and tap on Digital Card.
- Hold your phone over the HICAPS terminal to make your claim.
Frequently Asked Questions
Currently, only the main member (policyholder) has access to the digital member card. We’re working on extending this feature to include partners and dependants soon. In the meantime, they can continue to use their physical GMHBA member cards.
With the GMHBA digital member card, you can tap to claim instantly at extras providers using HICAPS. New members can begin claiming straight away once the card is added (annual limits and waiting periods apply).

Yes. Any active GMHBA physical member card can still be used at extras providers with HICAPS.
Call 1300 446 422 to disable your GMHBA digital card. iPhone users can also mark their device as lost or erase it remotely via Find My iPhone.
GMHBA digital member cards work with HICAPS terminals. If your provider uses a different system, you can still submit a claim via the GMHBA app, the Member Area or with your physical card.
