Geelong private health insurer wins Canstar Outstanding Value Award for the third year in a row.
GMHBA has claimed the Canstar Outstanding Value Award – Hospital Cover (VIC) in the annual Canstar Health Insurance Awards for the third consecutive year.
The awards are based on Canstar’s Star Ratings and recognise the insurers found to offer outstanding value to consumers. Canstar compared 32 different private health insurers including 3,683 hospital and 4,275 extras policy variations.
The research team commended GMHBA for its ability to cater to a wide range of policyholders with diverse healthcare needs.
GMHBA CEO David Greig said GMHBA had supported members through more than 90,000 hospital admissions and almost 62,000 surgeries in the past financial year alone.
“Last financial year GMHBA paid $402 million in hospital and medical claims, and this represents life changing access to health care and financial support for our members,” he said.
“We are committed to helping our members access the healthcare they need, and have invested significantly in providing great products, services and experiences. Over the next 12 months, we’ll be launching a new suite of extras products that will complement our award-winning hospital products and offer our members better value and more choice depending on their cover needs.”
GMHBA supports more than 320,000 members nationally and has expanded its offering beyond private health insurance. The leading not-for-profit regional health insurer will open a second multidisciplinary GMHBA Hub in Geelong in October, improving accessibility to regional Victorians and bringing together services such as dental, eye care, medical, and physiotherapy under the one roof.
“We are also investing significantly in technology that will equip our people with leading edge capabilities to deliver best in class experiences for our members and patients,” Mr Greig added.
The annual Canstar Health Insurance Awards is considered the gold standard in the health insurance industry, showcasing excellence in value, coverage, and customer satisfaction.
