Previously, GMHBA Health Insurance members who joined eligible combined covers had access to Connect Rewards, a tenure based loyalty program.
Connect Rewards will no longer be accrued following 28 February 2019, however anyone with an existing balance has until 31 December 2021 to use the remainder of their Connect Rewards balance on eligible services.
How to use your remaining rewards to minimise out of pocket:

How to claim Connect Rewards:
The following claims will automatically be paid from your Connect Rewards balance:
- In patient medical gap, 60-90 days after admission
- On the spot claiming via HICAPS for optical claiming
Any other eligible services such as increasing annual limits on selected extras and major dental can be claimed:
- In a branch
- By submitting a claim form and ticking the ‘use Connect Rewards’ box by email firstname.lastname@example.org or mail PO Box 761, Geelong VIC 3220
How to check your Connect Rewards balance
You can check your Connect Rewards balance by calling our Customer Service Centre on 1300 446 422 or dropping into your local branch during business hours. Your balance will also be updated periodically in your Online Member Area.

The below table details the Connect Rewards dollars earned based on members’ tenure and level of hospital cover.
Connect Rewards benefit entitlements remain available while eligible combined hospital and extras cover is maintained continuously.

Connect Rewards accruals end on 28 February 2019, with a pro rata benefit accrual given to members on their next Connect Rewards anniversary date. This is either 1 May if you have continuously held eligible combined cover since on or before 1 May 2009 or, if after that date, the date you first took out an eligible combined cover. Benefits listed in this table apply to family, couples and single parent memberships. Rewards for singles were half those listed in the table. Connect Rewards is presently available on all combined hospital and extras covers other than combinations including any of the following:
