MyMedicare registration
MyMedicare is a voluntary, free patient registration model. It aims to enhance continuity of care through formalising the relationship between patients, their general practitioner (GP) and primary care teams at their preferred general practice location.
Patients registered with MyMedicare will also have access to longer GP telehealth consultations funded by the Medicare Benefit Scheme (MBS), and patients living in aged care will be eligible for more regular visits from a GP. All Medicare-eligible patients will benefit from triple bulk-billing incentives, meaning more services are fully covered.
You’re eligible to register in MyMedicare if you have a Medicare Card or Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Veteran Card, and either of the following for face-to-face visits recorded with the same practice in the previous 24 months:
- one face-to-face visit for practices in remote locations (MM 6 and 7)
- two face-to-face visits for practices in other locations.
If you would like to register with MyMedicare and choose one of our locations as your preferred medical centre, you can now register online or in person at our clinic.
To register online:
First, you will need to start the registration process in your Medicare Online Account. Find our medical centre in the list of registered GP clinics and submit your registration. Our medical centre staff will then accept the registration in the MyMedicare system.
To register in person:
Alternatively, you can visit our medical centre and fill out a registration form at reception. By signing the form, you are giving consent to our medical centre staff to register you in MyMedicare. Our practice staff will then complete the registration in the MyMedicare system for you.
If you choose not to register with MyMedicare, you’ll still be able to access the same quality of care from our healthcare providers.
For more information, visit the Department of Health website.
