GMHBA with Kieser

We're supporting eligible* members with access to Kieser's Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis or Spinal programs.

We're working with Kieser to prevent or delay selected surgery for our members. Eligible* members can access funding to participate in the Kieser Hip & Knee or Spinal programs.

*To be eligible for GMHBA to fund your participation in the Kieser Hip & Knee program or Spinal program, you must have an appropriate level of GMHBA hospital cover that includes Back, Neck and Spine with Pain Management devices (spinal program) or Bone, Joint & Muscle and Joint Replacements (hip and knee program) and have served all relevant waiting periods. You must not have participated in another GMHBA funded Kieser program within the last 12 months and meet the accessibility criteria for the program as determined by Kieser.

The Kieser Hip & Knee Program

Designed to prevent or delay the need for joint replacement surgery, reduce pain and improve your ability to undertake everyday activities, this 14 week physiotherapy program is available to eligible* GMHBA members.

The program has been developed by Kieser to include:

  • An initial assessment and 6 one-on-one treatment and exercise appointments with a physiotherapist
  • One-on-one sessions with an exercise scientist or physiologist
  • A physiotherapist designed strength program

Kieser Spinal Program

This 18 week program aims to prevent or delay the need for spinal surgery, reduce symptoms and provide guidance for long term support.

The program has been developed by Kieser to include:

  • An initial assessment and 13 one-on-one treatment and exercise appointments with a physiotherapist
  • 12 sessions on the Kieser lumbar extension strengthening machine
  • One-on-one sessions with an exercise scientist or physiologist
  • A physiotherapist designed strength program
