We are community minded and genuinely concerned about doing the right thing for our members and the communities we serve. In FY15 we demonstrated this through a range of programs, partnerships and activities that made a positive contribution to our local communities.
There were several significant programs that were delivered that demonstrated our commitment to our local communities. The inaugural GMHBA Healthy Community Grants program was launched supporting three community organisations delivering targeted health and well-being programs across the greater Geelong region. In February, the GMHBA Community Harvest grew from idea to action providing vegetables for a Geelong food relief agency harvested from the Head Office rooftop garden.
Our employees increased their engagement in our community initiatives which was demonstrated by a 6% increase in participation in volunteer activities and a 7% increase in contributions to Give Where You Live via workplace giving.
Over 60 not for profit organisations and charities were supported through various GMHBA programs and initiatives.
We continue to refine and grow our community engagement strategy to ensure that we are delivering exceptional programs that drive real change and improvements to the health and wellbeing of our local communities.
