GMHBA has two ranges of hospital covers, Premium and Everyday. Both are available with excess levels ranging from $0 - $1,000 to reduce the rate you pay.
To decide which hospital cover suits your needs, first choose your level of cover, then an excess level.
What level of hospital cover do you need?
Premium Hospital range
Our Premium Hospital range has better medical benefits and a single room guarantee*. It's for those who want the best cover.
* We will pay you $50 per day (up to a maximum of $150 for 3 days) if you stay in a shared room overnight when you requested a single room in a private hospital.
Everyday Hospital range
Our Everyday range offers you great value comprehensive to more basic covers with benefits to match.

Bronze Hospital cover
GMHBA's Bronze Hospital cover is different to Gold Plus, Silver Plus, Gold, Silver and Silver Single Parents covers in that it provides you with cover only in a public hospital. You are treated as a private patient in a shared room in a public hospital. Bronze cover is suitable if you want a basic level of hospital cover to avoid the Medicare Levy Surcharge or to lock in your certified age of entry for Lifetime Health Cover. Haemodialysis and Gastric Banding are excluded on Bronze Hospital cover.
Which excess level?
You can reduce the cost of your hospital cover by choosing an excess. There are three different excess levels available on our hospital covers. They are:

Note: Silver Hospital Single Parents cover is only available with a $200 excess.
