Are you getting the most out of your health insurance in 2013? There’s no better time than now to review your cover and take advantage of what’s on offer for you.
We understand that our members lead busy lives and reviewing your health insurance cover may not be at the top of your ‘to do’ list, but reviewing your cover will help you see if you’re still on the right product.
Has your family situation changed? Are you covered for the medical procedures or benefits you may soon require? Products are designed for members at different life stages requiring different types of treatment so it makes sense to regularly review your cover and ensure that you are getting the best deal.
Some questions to ask yourself could be:
- Do I need more or less coverage?
- Do I have an excess on my hospital cover?
- Am I getting what I need from my health insurance cover?
The Federal Minister for Health, Tanya Plibersek, encourages Australians with private health insurance to review their cover.
“I encourage you to regularly review your cover to ensure that it is right for you and your circumstances. By making the effort to shop around, by comparing and contrasting products, consumers can get excellent value for private health insurance cover. The best way to do this is to visit www.privatehealth.gov.au where you can find the price and coverage details for your own product together with a wide range of alternatives. This website also contains information on your right to change cover without penalty.” Tanya Plibersek, Minister for Health.
