GMHBA is excited to announce they have partnered with Corio Bay Sports Medicine Centre and will now cover 100% of the cost for the Strong Knees Program for GMHBA members on Platinum and Gold Hospital Covers.
The program consists of a series of exercise and learning sessions designed to achieve optimal strength, mobility and function for mild to moderately osteo-arthritic knees.
The Strong Knees Program (SKP) has been running at the Corio Bay Sports Medicine Centre for six months and has seen average improvements in pain reduction, walking, stairs capacity and general function of 15 – 20% for each client.
The program has educational, exercise and general health and advice components and is formulated to give patients the best ongoing ability to better manage their knees.
“The health and wellbeing of our members is at the forefront of everything we do. We continually strive to deliver innovative and supportive programs to assist the health and wellbeing of our community and members” said General Manager Health, Wellbeing & Provider Relations James Arnott.
“We are excited to be the only health insurer to offer a full subsidy under an eligible hospital cover for this program.” said James Arnott.
